The National Folk Organization (NFO) was formed in 1986 to preserve, promote and provide opportunities in the folk arts. In 2022, the NFO established a Mentoring Project to support the work and goals of folk dance communities in the US, providing folk dancers access to information that supports their efforts to maintain and grow their communities.
If you have ever considered learning how to teach folk dance, know that there is a cadre of mentors across the country (and in Canada) who are ready to work with you one-on-one to develop your skills. Apply to be a mentee at the Mentoring Project website.
